I have dined here a couple of times, both for lunch and for dinner, and it doesn't matter, excellent in all. First off, the place is tiny so you may have to wait and be sitting with others. They do speak minimal English and the menus have English translations. We were seated at a corner table on our last visit with kids and had a decent amount of space.
I had the meat plate to start out with, which was a great selection of roughly sliced meats, with accompanying sides. For my entree, I had the pasta with meat sauce. The pasta was Tagliatelle, cooked perfectly al dente and the meat sauce was good. Not a ton of meat, but for the price you pay, can't be beat. The bathrooms are tight here and it really feels local. -

**They only take cash here!** they also open at 12pm, despite what Yelp says. Don't bother embarrassing yourself asking for WiFi, there is none - as we found out, but who cares, you shouldn't be on your phone anyway, right? It's also cheap which is great (house wine for 2 Euro? Come on).
There are 4 women who run this place, and the food is so comforting, it's like what my grandmother used to make. No fancy, high-falutin' plating, just simple, delicious home cooking. Highly recommend. We will probably go back tomorrow!
We ordered: crostini w/ Gorgonzola and walnuts, spaghetti pomodoro e ricotta, roast beef w/ salad (we like this so much we forgot to take a picture), ricotta cheesecake (my husband gobbled it up and ordered one to go also!)
Edit: we came back a second time. The ladies did not disappoint! The menu changed significantly since our last meal - equally as good. I love this place! -

6 of us wandered in for lunch and even though it was crowded with (mostly local) customers, we were seated within 5 minutes. Staff was very friendly and patient with our limited Italian. We ordered pici with wild boar, cheesy spaghetti (this was the English translation), spinach, and.... the best part of the meal: WARM ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. The desserts were the main draw for us, as I'd previously read about them. The ricotta cheesecake was very special and you should 100% try it if you go! The tiramisu was really good too but I haven't really had bad tiramisu yet, so if you have to choose one dessert (which you shouldn't have to if you're on vacation!!) you should get the cheesecake. The other standout for us was the pici with wild boar. Pici is a type of fat spaghetti and was perfectly al dente. The wild boar is a speciality of this region. Together, it was perfection. Everything was very affordable too!

A must go! Stopped in for a good quick lunch with two friends on our Italy visit and this did not disappoint. We started with glasses of Chianti and some bruschetta, then rounded out the meal with the pasta with truffle and gnocchi with spinach and cheese. Everything was amazing! Served quickly and extremely affordable. The place is a bit small, we ended up sitting in the bar like area rather than a table. We were right next to the kitchen though, so were able to grab our plates as soon as they were ready to be served! I would recommend to all friends visiting Florence. Salud!
